Wartburg College invites applications to fill the Board of Regents Chair in Ethics, a nine-month, tenure-track position  in the Religion & Philosophy department. The appointment  begins September 2011.

The successful candidate who holds a completed Ph.D. in theological ethics or in philosophical ethics will be appointed as an assistant or associate professor, depending on experience. Alternatively, an A.B.D. with completion scheduled no later than June 2012 may be considered  for an appointment as an instructor. Preference will be given to the candidate who provides evidence of successful college-level teaching in ethics courses, of experience in curriculum and program development, and of experience in applied research and/or consulting. In addition to teaching, the endowed Board of Regents Chair in Ethics shall consult with faculty and staff to integrate content on ethics into Wartburg College programs and courses so all Wartburg College students might obtain knowledge, skills and experience in this area and, further, will provide workshops and other developmental opportunities to senior leadership, faculty, staff and students. The successful candidate shall also give evidence of excellent communication abilities, organizational and project management skills, and a willingness to enthusiastically  support the mission of the College.
