Loyola University Chicago's (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Philosophy seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Philosophy, beginning in the fall of 2012. The department offers an undergraduate major, an M.A., and a Ph.D. in philosophy.  The department also serves the university's undergraduate core curriculum.  For more information about the Department of Philosophy at LUC, please visit its website at http://www.luc.edu/philosophy/index.shtml.

Duties will include teaching at the undergraduate level in the University Core Program and the Bioethics Minor Program and at the graduate level in the Philosophy Department's graduate programs. Thesis/Dissertation supervision and committee responsibilities are also expected.

The department is searching for candidates with specialization in Ethics and Bioethics. The area of competence is open, but a background in the philosophy of biology will be favorably considered. A completed Ph.D. in Philosophy is required.
