Brite Divinity School, affiliated with Texas Christian University, invites applicants in the fall of 2008 for a tenure track position that will include responsibilities in Black Church Studies and an additional academic discipline to begin in the fall of 2009. Level of appointment is open. Ph.D. or equivalent is required. Commitment to teaching and scholarly research is expected. Teaching load is four courses per year at masters and doctoral levels. Emory University seeks two senior scholars to fill the Raymond Schinazi Chair in Bioethics and Jewish Thought and the Raymond Schinazi Chair in Bioethics and Christian Thought.  These scholars may come from any relevant academic discipline and relevant faith tradition, and will have a strong record of scholarship and teaching in bioethics with particular emphasis on the impact of Jewish or Christian thought on health, medicine, and research.  In addition to extending scholarship and teaching, these professors will join current health sciences and ethics faculty, in providing creative leadership in various interdisciplinary and inter-religious bioethics initiatives bridging the Health Sciences and Emory College. The successful applicant will hold a joint appointment in the School of Medicine, the appropriate Department at Emory College, and the University-wide Center for Ethics. A PhD, MD, or other doctoral level degree is required, and a tenured appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level is anticipated. The University of Notre Dame seeks a distinguished scholar and teacher to serve as Luce Professor in Religion, Conflict, and Peacebuilding at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies.  This professor, who may come from any relevant academic discipline and faith tradition, will have compiled an outstanding record of achievement in the study of the various roles of religious actors and religious traditions in both the legitimation and the peaceful transformation of deadly conflicts. At Notre Dame he or she will assume leadership of a variety of academic initiatives dedicated to the interdisciplinary, inter-religious exploration of "lived religion" in contemporary conflict settings. Candidates should have research experience in one of the following fields and interest in nurturing interdisciplinary research in the others: religious and ethnic conflict; religion and human rights; inter-religious and intra-religious differences and dialogue; comparative religious ethics; conflict transformation and peacebuilding.  The appointment, which ordinarily includes tenure, will begin in August 2008.
